Book a guided kayak tour in the Tösse archipelago with Katrin. Discover the magical nature of the archipelago up close. Tösse Archipelago is a nature reserve and the birdlife on the islands is rich. Herons and ospreys are often seen foraging, and in the bays there are mallards, grebes, great black-backed guillemots and great black-backed terns. If you are lucky, you may see the lark chasing dragonflies over the reeds at dusk. Out on the archipelago there are colonies of whitebirds with grey herons and gulls. The great horned owl and common tern also nest in the area. The archipelago, which is located in Lake Vänern, is Dalsland's largest and consists of around 30 islands that offer a varied nature from forested islands to bare cliffs and sandy beaches.
We look at the typical vegetation in the archipelago. Depending on the weather and wind, we land on one of the archipelago's beautiful beaches for a fika and perhaps a refreshing swim? On Storön we can visit an old cottage from the 1850s and learn more about life in the archipelago in the past. We paddle at a comfortable pace and meander among the skerries, make our way through a narrow reed channel and cross some more open water.
There are tours for both those who have no previous experience of paddling and those who are experienced paddlers. Read more about discovery tour for beginners and discovery tour for experienced paddlers.
